Pretty Little Thing

Emma Cassi is one of the very few jewelry designers who know how to create beautiful accessories with mix-media materials. Her jewelry turns out to be more than just an accessory. Beside jewelry design, Emma also does a fantastic job on styling and photographing her own products. She is a very inspiring one-woman-business who can manage her business equally well as her creative ideals.

圓滿

中秋節快樂!
Happy Mid-Autumn Festival to all Chinese around the world! I miss memories of walking around my hometown with my handmade gold fish lantern with my childhood friends under the pale moonlight. I remember that every kid in the neighborhood always used this occasion to show off his or her handmade lantern.

Chinese celebrations are always paired with colorful legends. It is also the day where family and friends bond through the sharing of moon cakes, beautiful lanterns and fresh pomelos. Those are the good old days where everyone gathers and I wonder how all my long time “lantern friends” are celebrating this special festival in my hometown today.

Past Image

Today is another adventure day for me as I managed to visit numerous places to gather new information for my online business. One of the places I went to was “Past image” which is located in Excelsior Shopping Centre. It’s my first time visiting this outlet and I am very pleased to discover another new place for antique/vintage lovers.

Willy Ong - the owner of Past Image for almost 20 years was nice enough to let me snap photos of his shop and his precious vintage collections. Everything displayed in the shop is still in working condition and their selling prices are reasonable for collectors. I am sure the average collector will find it hard to return home empty handed.

Heirloom by Dolo

If you have ever visited Limau Limau Café (my previous post), you should be familiar with Dolo’s paintings.

I got to know this Fashionista many years ago while both of us were still students. He is one of the very few artists who can draw and paint with effortless energy. When he paints, he paints with his emotions and heart.

Other than being a local artist, Dolo is working full time with the brand Crocodile’s art direction, both in Singapore and Malaysia. If you ever walk past any of the Crocodile outlets and are attracted by its display and styling, Dolo’s the man behind the scene.

With the pressures of life and work, Dolo balances his life with imaginative painting. Melaka has always been a big inspiration for him as it is the place where he finds his inner peace and energy. Heirloom is a series of paintings inspired by his memories and life story as a Malaccan.

Follow Dolo's fan page at Facebook and visit his personal blog here.

•Collection of 10 artworks
Size: 12" x 12"

If you are interested in buying his artwork you can write to him at doloturpolo@gmail.com for further information.
